As well as Amazon Japan, this is also available via CDJapan (note that Amazon Japan doesn’t except existing Amazon credentials, you have to create a new account). At least it invented ASMR decades before ASMR was even a thing. Its literally 13 minutes of Alan Styles preparing and eating a breakfast I wish I could have. This presentation comes with a whole host of paper items including a reprint of the OBI-strip, a photo booklet of unpublished photos, a Hakone Aphrodite programme reprint, a reproduction of the venue guide map, an Osaka performance poster, a Hakone Aphrodite ticket reprint and access to a special digital booklet, Recollection Hakone Aphrodite 1971.Ītom Heart Mother limited Japanese-only CD+blu-ray will be released on 4 August 2021. 'Atom Heart Mother' is a well-constructed, beautifully produced Pink Floyd album that would’ve been one of my favorites if it werent for 'Alans Psychedelic Breakfast'. In fact, if you order from Amazon Japan what they are calling a ‘mega-jacket’ (24cm x 24cm, or about 9.5 inches) is also included, although these are limited on a first-come-first-served basis. It comes in traditional Japanese ‘paper sleeve’ packaging but it’s seven-inch square, not standard five-inch, CD-size. The lavish packaging in the Japanese exclusive CD+blu-ray of Atom Heart Mother (click to enlarge) The parts are Father's Shout, Breast Milky, Mother Fore, Funky Dung, Mind Your Throats Please, and the Reemergence. This combo-pack features the album on CD and the video of the live performance on the blu-ray along with ‘Scott & Watts’ – Hakone Aphrodite B-roll footage.īecause this is a Japanese release, (exclusive – thought to be down to licensing issues), it is lavishly packaged. Songfacts: The song is 23:45 long and has no lyrics other than the background sounds 'Silence in the studio' at 19:06 and 'Here is a loud announcement' at 17:25. I don't have a bad one, but A/B'ing Animals was the biggest shock to me (outside of how amazing the division bell sounded), as I was *really* happy with the reissue, to where I only listened to that copy alone for a year or two before going back to my old copy, and the difference was so immediately noticeable (not to mention this weird thing they did w/ the contrast on the album cover of the reissue that just looks so strange). The festival was on the 6 and 7 August 1971 and this was Pink Floyd’s first visit to Japan. None of this is to knock any particular pressing, just saying they all vary. WYWH I mostly listen to my reissue, but mainly because my original copy isn't in the greatest shape, so it's tough for me to even do a comparison - so no opinion there, really, other than I at least have no complaints w/ the reissue But I prefer a MFSL Original Master from Japan (not sure of the year, sometime in the 80s I believe) pressing to all of them (contentious issue, but they all sound great). I also think my first issue Harvest sounds amazing. I have a LOT of different copies of DSotM. I got the 25th anniversary blue Division Bell, and it's honestly one of the best sounding albums in my entire collection (which includes many audiophile grade, including MoFi one-steps). Went back to do the same as I did with Animals, but still preferred the new reissue of The Wall, in terms of mastering and sound quality. The Wall, I instantly preferred the new one. It simply blew away the reissue and I wont go back to the new one now. Began only listening to that one, before finally deciding to RCM clean my first issue and give it a listen. For instance, Animals I got the new one, and was really happy with it. But I do think if Atom Heart Mother was never released, nothing truly profound would have been missed. I've got varying copies of all of them, and my preferences really range - sometimes the new ones sound better to me, other times they don't.
